Operational Security (OPSEC)
OPSEC is the process that identifies and assesses the availability of critical information and its potential value to adversarial organisations or individuals. After assessment remedial actions can then be formulated to reduce the potential for exploitation by any adversary of that critical information.
In the executive context OPSEC includes the control of information pertaining to agenda, schedule, business, personal and family information but also company information of a sensitive nature that may present a security risk or creates vulnerabilities to the individual or company.
Policies and procedures regarding the control, dissemination or publishing of personal or other sensitive information pertaining to any member of the executive team and mid-level managers should be in place and practiced.
